MSET Board of Directors Candidates (2026)

Amanda has nearly 17 years of pediatric experience at the University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital. As one of two clinical supervisors for her department, she works closely with patients, techs, and other specialties/services to ensure their patients are receiving the best care they can provide. She has extensive experience in advanced pre-surgical procedures such as PET, SPECT, WADA, & SEEG.

Her contributions to MSET will be to offer insight into (nearly) exclusive pediatric experience, but also another perspective from a reputable level 4 epilepsy center. She has worked her way up as a previous Carnegie grad to the clinical supervisor she is today. Amanda appreciates the opportunity to not only share but grow and learn from her peers on another level.

Renee’s bio here.

Breyer is a passionate neurodiagnostic professional with nine years of experience in the field. Her journey began in 2016 as an EEG technician in a small private outpatient practice, where she worked primarily with pediatric patients. This early experience laid the foundation for her commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

In 2018, she joined Corewell Health West, where she became a Registered EEG Technologist in 2019. Since then, she has gained extensive experience in long-term monitoring within Level 4 Pediatric and Adult Epilepsy Monitoring Units as well as in neonatal intensive care, geriatric populations, and ICU settings.

Her leadership path began as a Charge Technologist. She also served as a primary preceptor and mentor to new staff. She found great fulfillment in helping others grow in their roles and in fostering a collaborative, high-performing team. In her current role as Neurodiagnostic Supervisor, she oversees departmental operations, supports quality improvement initiatives, leads cultural changes, and continues to advocate for professional development within her team.

As a passionate advocate for continuing education in neurodiagnostics, Breyer is committed to expanding access, awareness, and professional growth within our field. Her contributions to Corewell Health’s accredited Neurodiagnostic Program have helped create pathways for individuals to discover this profession, pursue registration, and create a life-long career.

In addition to her clinical and leadership experience, Breyer brings a proven skillset in thinking outside the box to develop creative and engaging solutions. Whether it’s designing innovative training approaches or finding fun, effective ways to connect with staff, she believes that creativity is key to driving progress and building a culture that people strive to be a part of.

As a member of the MSET Board, Breyer would be honored to support initiatives that promote education, mentorship, and certification, while also contributing fresh ideas to help grow and energize our field across Michigan.
